Aloha friends and family! As the semester steadily progresses, we have had plenty of opportunities to get involved within the church as well as to the community on the island of Kauai. This past weekend, we had the pleasure of partnering with Crossroads Christian Fellowship in ministering to the island at Kauai’s annual Farm Fair. The Farm Fair is an annual event that contains everything from carnival rides to agricultural exhibits. It is an amazing four day weekend to have fun and fellowship with one another.
Our home church participates with this event and offers free face painting throughout the entirety of the weekend. Our college, both staff and students, have volunteered for face painting, interacting with the kids, and providing Bible-based surveys for the parents and adults. Our booth at the fair receives over 3,000 people throughout the entire weekend! Because we are the only evangelistic booth at the fair, we can see the necessity for stepping out in faith. Through this event, our church body had the opportunity to lead over 100 people to Christ. Talk about success!
Our theme for the booth this year was “Time,” and we emphasized the importance that this time we have on earth is so temporary compared to eternity with Jesus. The college and church body illustrated the necessity of a savior by using the bridge illustration and the evangecube, both being tools that make it easy to share the Gospel with those who have never heard it before. Our work being done out here is not in vain. God has been using the entirety of this college for His ultimate glory. Seeing so many young and old come to Jesus was a tremendous opportunity that isn’t always offered in our everyday lives back home. We can see a hunger and a thirst for Christ on this island, and we thank you for your continuous prayers and support as we press on in the battle to win the people of this island back to Christ. Ephesians 6:12 states that we are battling not against the people here on this earth, but against the “authorities and cosmic powers over this present darkness…” We have been given a huge opportunity out here.
Please continue to pray for the staff and students as they step out in faith and be bold in their lives. We would love to hear from you, so if you have any questions about our ministry, feel free to give us a call at (619) 796- 4522 or visit us at our website. Aloha and God bless!
