Tuition Update
Kauai Bible College is Raising Tuition!
Throughout the existence of KBC we have striven to keep tuition as low as possible to allow as many people to come and be discipled in our program as possible. We believe that KBC is a great place for people learn more about the Lord and grow in their relationship with Him as they learn how to disciple others to do the same. That is why, to keep schooling affordable, we have never once raised our tuition. When KBC was first established 9 years ago, we set the tuition at an amazingly low cost of $3,700. At the time, we had a small number of staff members who were paid small stipends, a small menu for school food and all staff and students lived in safari tents. We also had cold brackish water for showers, no internet and no electricity and $3,700 was still a great deal to attend college in Hawaii. As the college grew and changed, the tuition remained the same.
If you look at KBC today and see all we have to offer now compared to back when we first started while we are operating on the same tuition you would ask “how do you do it? How do you stay in business?” and the answer would be “by God’s Grace”. God has blessed us with so many generous people who give out of their love for the Lord and His ministry for this school and we are so grateful.
We are now a staff body of 10 members, which we pay closer to a living wage and we offer a much larger variety of food (with gluten free options and accommodations for people with allergies). In the Summer of 2015 we upgraded from safari tents to furnished cabin structures with spacious living area and electricity! (A miracle in itself) We have had clean, hot running water for showers and fast internet for several years now. We have added and grown in all of these ways while still keeping tuition at $3,700.
But we have gotten to the point where we cannot run the college on the low income meant to keep a lower maintenanced campus going anymore. Because we offer more amenities (like electricity, internet, better food, paid staff and new living structures) our upkeep is more expensive; not to mention tuition prices are significantly more expensive nationwide compared to 10 years ago. That is why KBC is raising tuition for the first time ever by $200.00. Instead of the normal $3,700 per semester, tuition will now be $3,900 per semester.
This tuition change will take effect starting with the Spring 2017 semester. This new rate covers the cost of room and board (meals), class credits, books and materials and some school outings.
Good news though, to all of those applying (or planning on returning) for Spring semester: if you pay your bed deposit before December 3rd, you can pay the old tuition rate of $3,700! That is a $200 saving! This discount stacks alongside one other discount that you are eligible for. You can click here to check out the discounts we offer. Apply today, and we will look over your completed application for acceptance.
We want to thank all of those who have donated to KBC in the past and to those who are currently supporting us. You are a huge blessing and big part of the continuing of the Lord’s ministry at KBC. Thank you for letting the Lord use you for greater things!
